An amazing discovery in two chinese giant technology companies

Some things in life are unforgettable, such as the experience of letting you learn. Today, I participated in two truly unforgettable and rich in knowledge trips organized by the Maker Club and workshop for Contemporary China Education of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST)in Hangzhou, China.

You may have heard of Huawei and Dahua, both of which have achieved great success in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) for more than a decade. We visited both of the companies on two consecutive days. My friends and I were fascinated by their organization and the equipment they have for future technological innovations. I got the chance to get up to date with the latest technology relevant to my major Communications Engineering, most importantly; wired or wireless networks and data transmission.

During these two days of sightseeing, we were accompanied by some representatives from our university, e.g. Communication Engineering, Maker Club and School of International Education. We felt that our surroundings were very comfortable, and we felt cared for, not only from the school’s side, but also from the organizer, i.e. Zhejiang Institute of Communications, and the respective companies. As an international student who came to China for its’ reputation of providing a good education, I had hoped to see amazing technological innovation, and I can tell you that my expectations have been met there.

Huawei and Dahua are consistently competitive companies in the market, and they always surpass themselves with the next generation of products they provide. To do this not only requires professional knowledge, but also rich qualities such as creativity, imagination, and most importantly, the ability to innovate.

Therefore, our university is particularly responsible towards the progress of its’ students by providing events like these for us to attend as well as numerous other clubs and activities. We truly believe that knowledge we attain from these events can give us more knowledge and a better chance for the future.

Interestingly, I have learned ICT, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and programming in less than four years of learning Telecommunications engineering in Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. I have more confidence to move in this direction in the future because of the instilled tools and skills this major has provided me so far.

It was indeed a good opportunity to visit these two huge companies related to my major, which has increased my chances of doing better in this field. Therefore, I am grateful to my university for giving me this opportunity. Thank you to Huawei and Dahua who agreed to receive us and took the time to explain their latest innovations to us.
